Second Tuesdays Concert Series welcomes series favorite Steinway Artist Hsing-ay Hsu!
Tuesday evening March 10th at 7:30
We are thrilled to host Hsing-ay Hsu as she presents an innovative and exciting Conscious Listening™ program:
My Favorite F#s: Piano Solos in the Key of F#
The program will include works by Scarlatti, Beethoven, Chopin, Scriabin, and Liszt.
The key of F# holds a special meaning for the composers who choose to take the extra time to write in numerous # signs all over the score. Why do they do it? Back in Baroque times, the tuning evolved around common keys like C major, and exotic keys were rare.
I think choosing this exotic key, which is most of the black keys on a piano keyboard, makes a statement. It’s more intimate, it’s illuminating, it’s sparkling, it’s sophisticated, it’s anything but generic!
In our times of global uncertainty, of social media destroying our sense of large units of time, of public conversation having to tiptoe around politics and religion and the things that matter to us, we need our favorite things to keep us going… to remind us of the miracle of being consciously alive. Being together. Being connected.
What to expect: a joyful, personal, multidimensional exploration with Conscious Listening™ activities, concepts, and performance.
Tickets are $20 for adults. Thanks to a generous contribution, tickets for students elementary through high school are free! Adult tickets are available through the link below or at the door the evening of the performance.
